Bradford Football Ultimate Devil Test: Red Devils Strive to Get Bigger, Faster, and Stronger. The Bradford Football Team competes twice a year in the Ultimate Devil Test. The test is given in February and right before the season starts in August. The test consists of eight events designed to measure each athlete’s speed, quickness, agility, strength, and power. Records are kept on each player from the time they begin testing as 9th graders to the time they graduate. The events tested are: bench press, parallel squat, power clean, forty yard dash, vertical jump, bench hops, pro agility, and standing long jump. The players earn points based on their performance on each event and then the points are totaled to determine the athletes overall score based on the following scale: 250 and up Ultimate Devil 225 - 249 Bad Devil 200 - 224 Ultra Devil 175 – 199 Super Devil 150 – 174 Champion 120 – 149 Winner The test was created by the legendary Valdosta High School coach Nick Hyder as a measuring stick to determine his best athletes. Valdosta High School, located in Georgia, is known as one of the top high school football programs in the nation. Coach Hyder believed that it was essential for all his starting players to at least reach the "Winner" level of the test to have a highly successful team. Coach Kennedy adopted this test in 2007 when he came to Bradford. Coach Kennedy and all our coaches believe that this will be an integral part of our success.
