Varsity Staff Jed Kennedy- Head Coach Coach Kennedy enters his 4th year as head coach of the Red Devils. Coach Kennedy holds a career record of 29-7 with the Red Devils and three trips to the quarterfinals(2007/2008/2009) They won the SEC conference in 2009. Prior to coming to Bradford, Coach Kennedy served as the head football coach at MacArthur High School in Decatur, Illinois for two seasons. While at MacArthur, Coach Kennedy also served as the head track coach for the 2006 season. Jed also spent two years in Florida as an assistant coach at Lake Brantley High School near Orlando, Florida and as an assistant coach at UW-River Falls. Jed graduated from Alma High School and played linebacker at UW-River Falls. They won a conference title in 1998 and Coach Kennedy was named team captain and All-Conference in 2001. Coach Kennedy teaches physical education and health at Bradford. Jed is married to Melissa and they have two daughter's, Makenna and Shaelyn. Coach Kennedy's Record by Year 2009 11-1 SEC Conference Champs & State Quarterfinalist 2008 9-3 State Quarterfinalist 2007 9-3 State Quarterfinalist TOTAL 29-7 Jim Camerota- Defensive Coordinator Coach Camerota is entering his 22nd year on the sideline. 21 of those years have been sent on the Bradford sidelines. Coach Camerota has worked all levels during his time with Red Devils, he was the head coach from 1998-2001. In 2007, Coach Camerota was named the Southeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year. Jim also serves as the department leader for the Math department. Jim earned his undergraduate from Parkside and his masters from UW-Whitewater. Jim is married to Lori and they have two children- Gina and Jarod. They also have a grand-daughter, Gabby and a grandson Jackson. Jarod Camerota- Quarterbacks Coach Camerota is entering his 1st year as quarterbacks backs coach. Larry Kamin- Outside Linebackers Coach Kamen enters his 2nd season with the Red Devils. Billy Moore- Soph. Defensive Coordinator/ Outside Linebackers Coach Moore enters his 4th season as a member of the Red Devil coaching staff. This season will be his 3rd with varsity outside linebackers. Coach Moore is a graduate of UW- Parkside with a degree in Sports & Fitness Management. He also holds a coaching certificate. While at Parkside, Coach Moore interned with the Northwestern University football program. He worked closely with coaches, players, and equipment staff for three years. Coach Moore is currently a long term sub in the district while he finishes his teaching credentials. Coach Moore is married to Jody and has two children, Taylor and Tate. John Choi- Offensive Line Coach Choi enters his 9th year as a coach for Bradford Red Devils. It is Coach Choi’s 4th season as head offensive line coach. Coach Choi also serves as the head coach of our varsity reserve team. Coach Choi is a graduate of Delavan –Darien High School were he played football and participated wrestling and track. He received his B.A from Carroll College where he participated in wrestling and he hold an MME in Choral Cunducting from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. John is married to Barb and has two children: Ian and Chloe. Scott Steger- Head Soph. Coach/ Wide Receivers Coach Steger enters his 8th season a Red Devil varsity assistant. In 2005 Coach Steger took over duties as Head Sophomore coach. He led the sophomores to undefeated seasons in 2009, 2008 & 2006. Scott also serves as our wide receivers coach. Prior to coming to Bradford, Scott coached at Carthage College. Scott graduated high school in Schaumburg, Illinois. He attended Carthage College where he was a three-year starter at wide receiver. Scott teaches in the Math department and is married to Leah. Scott Corrao -Offensive Assistant Scott Corrao enters his 3rd season with the Red Devils. Last year Coach Corrao worked with the receivers, this year he is an offensive assistant, helping will all facets of the offense. Scott also helps coach the speed and agility of the players, something he has done for 4 years. Scott also served as the Endzone Club President in 2004 and 2005. The endzone gives out a annual scholarship in his late wifes name, Debra Corrao. She was a strong supporter of Red Devil Football who battled breast cancer. Scott is a Tremper graduate who also served in the US Air Force. Scott's son was a standout defensive back for Devils and graduated in 2005. Jeremy Sowma- Offensive/ Defensive Line Jeremy Sowma enters his 5th season with the Red Devils. Coach Sowma assists with the offensive line. Coach Sowma is a graduate of Bradford and UW-Stevens Point where he graduated with a Communications degree. Coach Sowma is also a throwers coach for the track and field team. Jeremy is a security guard at Bradford. Mike Larson- Inside Linebackers Mike enters his 3rd season with the Red Devils. Prior to coming to Bradford, Mike served as an assistant at Baldwin-Woodville HS. The head coach at B-W, Dan Keifer, was Coach Kennedy's college linebacker coach. Mike played both linebacker and defensive line at UW-River Falls were he earned a degree in Math. Mike graduated from Durand HS and will teach math at Bradford. Garry Acchione – Defensive Backs Coach Acchione is back on the Red Devils staff for his second year after coaching the past 11 years at the high school varsity level in Syracuse, New York. Coach “Ack” as he is known to his players and player’s parents holds a BS degree in Communications from Syracuse University where he lettered in football as a defensive back in 1978, 1979 and 1980. Coach Ack played semi-pro football for the Syracuse Express of the Empire Football League (EFL) from 1982 – 1988. While playing with the Express he won two National Championships in 1985 and 1987. Coach Ack was the head coach of the Syracuse Express in 1992 and 1993. After coaching his son in Pop Warner for 5 years, he coached at Solvay HS (97-07) and Westhill HS (2008) in Syracuse, New York fro next 11 years as wide receiver and DB coach. Coach Acchione holds a coaching certification and currently works as a Quality Engineer for Chrysler Corporation at the Kenosha Engine Plant. Garry is married to Donna and they have three grown children Todd (26), Danielle (22) and Michael (19). Michael is currently a redshirt freshman at Syracuse University as a member of the football team. Coco Blalock- Wide Recievers Coach Coach Blalock enters his 3rd season as WR's coach. Freshman Staff Jacob Ruff- Head Coach Coach Ruff enters his 4th year with Bradford. Coach Ruff has been freshman defensive coordinator for two seasons and took over head coach in 2009. Prior to coming to Bradford, Coach Ruff coached at Menomonie High School, one of the top programs in the state. Coach Ruff attended Alma High School and graduated from UW-Stout where he participated in Rugby. Coach Ruff teaches Technology Education at Lincoln Middle School. Aaron Williams- Defensive Coordinator- Offensive Line/ Defensive Line Coach Williams enters his 3rd season with the Red Devils. Coach Williams is a graduate of UW-Stout and Wilmot HS. Coach Williams works with the offensive and defensive lines and is the Defensive Coordinator for the freshman team. Aaron teaches Technical Education at Bradford. Rob Griffin- Running Backs/ Defensive Backs Duane Sturino- Asst. O-Line and D-Line Nico Hardcastle- Wide Receivers/ Defensive Ends Coach Hardcastle is back for his 4th season with the freshman. Coach Hardcastle graduated from Bradford in 2007 where he was also a member of the football team. Nico is currently a student at Gateway and works in Racine. |
